06Governance for Sustainability

We help to build a greener and more sustainable future through a collaborative territorial approach and by establishing synergies and partnerships.

This transversal unit aims to work to increase the impact of research and innovation at various scales (local, regional, European and international) and to create synergies between all the actors involved (public administration, private sector, academia and civil society), always with a special focus on the political world of public policies. This should improve key aspects of governance related to environmental, social and economic sustainability.

In addition, it also promotes the capitalisation and transfer of knowledge generated by rural innovation projects, ensuring that the new ideas they generate are converted into practices with tangible impact.

To this end, it uses innovative methodologies of co-creation of solutions that help to orient research towards real and urgent priority needs, establishing cooperation networks that facilitate the exchange and effective application of knowledge. This work plays a key role in connecting science and policy, helping to establish new regulatory frameworks and new policies based on scientific evidence.

Working from a multi-level and multi-stakeholder perspective, from the local to the international level.
The BETA Centre has long experience in capitalising on results and developing recommendations for new policies.
