The CT BETA receives one of the Osona-BancSabadell Special Awards
The jury has especially taken into account its contribution to the research
The BETA Technological Center has been one of the awarded entities of the Osona-BancSabadell Special Prize, which, since 2017, has been organized by the Llotja de Vic in collaboration with the Banc de Sabadell, the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Vic City Council. For second time, the jury has promoted a unique recognition to an entity that has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the sector. This 2021, the recognition has been for the BETA TC, for its contribution to the research for a proper and responsible management of soils and fertilizer products.
This award highlight the impact on the territory of large-scale European projects such as FERTIMANURE or SEA2LAND, among others, but also many other national projects or transfer agreements with companies led by BETA TC in recent years since the perspective of the bioeconomy and sustainable rural development.
The aim of the awards granted by the Llotja de Vic, mainly aimed to pig farms, is to give visibility to the commitment of this sector with a responsible management, minimizing the risks to health and the environment and ensuring the welfare of animals. In this edition, four farms have been awarded in the categories of Fattening, Breeding, Transition and Guest Territory.
