The climate emergency is a reality in Catalonia. Given the current drought situation, the main challenge is to optimize water use, both as a resource and as a waste product. In this context, water regeneration and reuse emerge as key strategies for the agri-livestock sector and the food processing industry. The diversity of companies and the complexity of food production and processing systems provide multiple opportunities to implement new efficient water management mechanisms. This demonstration activity aims to capitalize on the results of R&D&I projects conducted in recent years on water regeneration and reuse. The capitalization process unfolds in different phases: mapping and analyzing recent projects with a potential positive impact on the sector, organizing transfer activities to replicate and disseminate key results, and developing recommendations to improve decision-making both at the technical level and in public policies.
