The company Boehringer Ingelheim awards the BETA TC with the “One Health” Recognition

The award was presented during the second edition of the "One Health Day: moving towards a comprehensive approach to health"

The BETA technological Center of UVic-UCC has been awarded with the One Health Recognition prize given by Boehringer Ingelheim. The award was presented during the second edition of the One Health Day: moving towards a comprehensive approach to health, organized by the pharmaceutical company in the auditorium El Beatriz in Madrid, last week. New this year, Boehringer Ingelheim wanted to recognize the initiatives that are implementing concrete solutions for a multidisciplinary approach to health. The award was collected on behalf of BETA TC by its director, Sergio Ponsá. The same prize was also awarded to the Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC).

The aim of the event was to highlight the One Health concept, a strategy that seeks to increase interdisciplinary collaboration in the care of human, animal and environmental health. The event featured several presentations and round tables focused on interdisciplinary collaboration between veterinarians, physicians, researchers and public health experts. In this line, the current policies, legislative advances and other initiatives promoted by both the Administration and other groups involved in the health care of people, animals and the environment were also discussed.

The tables of experts also included top-level journalists and scientific disseminators, who discussed how to approach this concept from the point of view of communication, journalism, information, awareness and education, and how to work to bring it closer to society.
