Job description

Description:
The BETA Technological Center is made up of a young multidisciplinary team of more than 90 professionals and currently, we are willing to incorporate a dynamic person that wants to be part of our team. The candidate will work in the area of “Governance for Sustainability”, and he/she will be involved in the execution of several European projects in this area.
Mainly, he/she will work in the project NENUPHAR (Horizon Europe; New governance models to enhance nutrient pollution handling and nutrients recycling) as well as in other related projects in the area. The candidate will also participate in the preparation of new proposals to attract new funding.
Functions and duties:
  • Identification, monitoring and analysis of agricultural and environmental policies
  • Identification and stakeholder engagement, monitoring of governance models in nutrient management
  • Management and execution of European projects (mainly Horizon Europe)
  • Planning, monitoring and organization of project activities and tasks
  • Organization and participation in project meetings and international events
  • Promotion, fundraising and preparation of new project proposals
  • Networking and promotion of new collaborations with interest groups, national and international projects and initiatives

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • University Degree in the field of: Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Political Sciences, Economics, or similar.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of regional/national/European agricultural and environmental policy, and in particular of EU’s common agricultural policy (CAP); knowledge of policy-making and governança mechanisms.
  • High knowledge of the environmental sector; nutrient management, sustainability, bioeconomy and sustainable development.
  • Previous participation in European projects and in writing technical documents and reports.
  • Great capacity for organization and completion of deadlines
  • High communication and networking skills

Merits

  • Previous collaboration with public administrations, Mediterranean and EU institutions.
  • Previous experience in writing project proposals and participation in competitive European calls (H2020 / Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg, ENI CBC MED etc.)
  • Experience in transfer and capitalization of results and mainstreaming
  • Experience in business models, regulatory and economic instruments
  • Knowledge and experience in Mediterranean countries (north and south) and Europe
  • Knowledge of Spanish and English is mandatory, Catalan is highly desirable
