CT BETA at the First TECNIO Congress of Catalonia
The aim of this entity is to bring together and make visible the activity of research groups with the TECNIO seal
A delegation of BETA TC and the Technical Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer (OTRI) of the UVic-UCC have participated in the First TECNIO Congress, which took place this week at the University of Girona by the hand of the TECNIO Association, recently founded. The aim of this entity is to bring together and make visible the activity of research groups with the TECNIO seal, promote their collaboration, and promote them as an instrument of connection with the business community and the administration.
The objective of this First TECNIO Congress is to identify the current challenges facing the knowledge transfer ecosystem in Catalonia. Apart from representatives of the 59 members of the TECNIO Association, it has counted with the participation of experts in various disciplines, both from the public sector, research, innovation and the business world. The debate among them has allowed to talk about how to give impetus to new policies that facilitate research-business collaboration in the long term and how to generate high-impact innovation for our country. Specifically, the director of CT BETA, Sergio Ponsá, participated in the round table “What does the company need from R&D suppliers to establish long term relationships”, where he presented the experience acquired by the technological center during the last years.
The TECNIO seal is the accreditation granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya through ACCIÓ to identify and give visibility to Catalan technology developers, that is, entities that generate new technology and transfer it to the company. For a center like CT BETA, which has held it since its foundation in 2014, it is a recognition of its potential as an actor that can help strengthen the business fabric and make the Catalan innovation ecosystem internationally attractive.
