Description:
The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 110 researchers and is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a technician with knowledge of environmental technologies who can support researchers and who will become part of the team of the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy Unit of the BETA Technology Centre. The selected person will support the researchers of this unit in the performance of experimental tasks, which may include field sampling, performing laboratory tests especially in solid waste valorisation technologies (composting, pyrolysis, biosecanation, etc) and also in the characterisation of samples.

Functions and duties:
– Conducting solid waste valorisation experiments at laboratory and pilot plant level.
– Monitoring of composting, anaerobic digestion, pyrolysis and other technologies.
– Conducting biodegradability and compostability tests.
– Support in the operation of pilot plants both at CT BETA’s facilities and also installed in companies in Catalonia.
– Physico-chemical characterisation of samples.
– Support in the preparation of reports.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Vocational training:  Intermediate-level vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Good skills in the performance of experimental tasks.
  • Motivation, commitment and willingness to learn.

Merits

– University degree in: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or similar.
– Previous experience in environmental technologies.
– Experience in sample characterisation and physico-chemical analysis.

Gross salary: 24.604,20 €.
