Job description
The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 90 professionals, and is looking for a dynamic person eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a competitive national project manager to join the centre’s project management team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and processing of grant applications, and for the administrative, financial and legal management of funded national competitive projects. He/she will carry out the economic-financial monitoring of the projects in execution until the final justification and economic closure of the project is carried out, supporting the researcher to ensure the correct implementation of the projects within the deadlines and formats required by each funding body.
– Dissemination of funding opportunities from public, private, national and regional bodies.
– Support to researchers in the preparation of grant proposals: fulfilment of eligibility criteria, preparation of budgets, forms, etc.
– Management of grant acceptance and negotiation procedures.
– Interlocution with funding bodies.
– Control and monitoring of coordinated competitive projects. Communication with the funding agency, communication with partners, preparation of the consortium agreement, preparation and payment procedure for partners, management of consortium addendums, etc.
– Planning and monitoring of the execution of expenditure and management of changes in competitive national projects (management of R+D grant budgets, technical support in project planning, etc.), management of the research team, feasibility analysis and redefinition of the budget if necessary, support in the preparation of annexes, adjustments and response to requirements, support in the preparation of financial reports and audits).
– Application for and monitoring of labour and/or commercial contracts.
– Time and dedication control of the centre’s staff (timesheets).
– Scheduling and monitoring the delivery of scientific-technical and economic justifications, as well as audits.
– Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and the regulations and policies of funders.
– Registration and continuous updating of projects in internal and external project management tools.
Requirements
Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.
Merits
– University degree in the field: environmental sciences, chemistry, political sciences, economics or similar.
– Doctorate degree.
– Previous experience in management of competitive research projects.
– Experience in coordinating consortia for the development of European projects with state or national funding.
– Experience in the CoFFEE and MINERVA applications.
– Complementary training in research management and knowledge transfer.
– Experience in the university environment.
– Experience in innovation management and scientific dissemination.
