First steps of the Erasmus+ REGENU Project to move towards a greener future through Higher Education Institutions

REGENU is a new European project funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ KA2 program and lead by the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. The aim of the project is to identify, develop, and test innovative educational approaches that can be integrated into regular higher education institution (HEI) curriculums and youth training systems. By doing so, the project seeks to promote the green transition through education and training.

The project addresses the need for innovation in HEIs and training systems for youth by tackling the challenge of climate change and the need for a systemic implementation of the European Green Deal. Through the development of business models that move from an extractive model of the economy towards a regenerative model of the economy, the project seeks to establish a groundwork for the green transition.

During the kick-off meeting, held in Venice last February, project partners discussed the specifics of each partner’s work, and the establishment of communication and drawing attention to the problems of the green economy among scientists, educators, university teachers, representatives of businesses, scientific institutions, and other interested stakeholders.

Overall, the REGENU project is an ambitious initiative that seeks to drive innovation in HEIs and training systems and promote the green transition through education and training.
