Andreu Ubach is a biologist and PhD in Biodiversity. His research focuses on the ecology and biology of butterflies, mainly through the Catalan Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (www.catalanbms.org), of which he is one of the coordinators.

His studies are based on the use of butterflies as bioindicators of the natural environment to explore the effects of climate and landscape changes such as the closure of vegetation or pasture. He also carries out other lines of research related to the study of the conservation status of threatened species in Catalonia.
