Job description

The BETA Technology Center is comprised of a young, multidisciplinary team of over 150 researchers committed to research and knowledge transfer to address environmental and sustainability challenges.

At a pivotal moment for our institutional future, we are in the midst of a transition to an independent Foundation that will be integrated into the CERCA network of centers of the Government of Catalonia. As a key player in this new phase, we are seeking a professional who wants to assume a strategic, driving, and constructive role, becoming the primary point of contact for the Talent Management area. This individual will lead the creation and consolidation of HR processes, ensuring a balance between a modern approach to talent and rigorous compliance with regulations and labor administration.

Functions and duties:

  • Creation of the Area and Strategy: Define HR processes and policies aligned with the CERCA model and advise Management on the organizational structure and workforce planning.
  • Talent Management: Lead the selection of scientific/technical profiles, design career paths, training programs, and performance evaluation systems.
  • Operational Management and Recruitment: Oversee the recruitment process, payroll, time and attendance tracking (clocking in/out/vacation), and onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Labor Relations and Legal Framework: Ensure the correct application of labor regulations and the collective bargaining agreement, act as the liaison with employee representatives and legal counsel, and lead conflict management, mediation processes, and disciplinary measures.
  • Culture and Compliance: Promote the Equality Plan, compensation policy, and occupational health and safety (OHS), ensuring compliance with protocols (harassment, internal reporting channels, and data protection).

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.

If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.

If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.

If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.
