Lucía de la Huerta-Schliemann is a PhD researcher at the Granollers Museum of Natural Sciences. She holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and an international Master’s degree in Ecology, Monitoring and Ecosystem Management from the Université Marie et Louis Pasteur (France).

Her research focuses on the ecology and conservation of bats, with a particular interest in light pollution, movement ecology and wildlife monitoring through innovative technologies. She is currently leading an experimental project funded by Bat Conservation International to evaluate the effectiveness of different light pollution mitigation measures on Mediterranean bat communities. She also coordinates the SOS Bats service in Catalonia, managing public enquiries and incidents related to bats.

In parallel, as a recipient of a 2025 WILDLABS Award, she participates in the international ICARUS Bat project, investigating the migratory routes of the lesser noctule (Nyctalus leisleri) across Europe using miniaturised GPS tracking devices.
