Lídia Freixas Mora holds a degree in Biology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her research focuses on the ecology and conservation of small mammals, with a particular interest in dormice and in understanding how environmental factors, resource availability and global change influence their population dynamics. Her work is based on long-term citizen science monitoring programmes, including those promoted through mamifers.org.
Throughout her career, she has established the first dormouse monitoring programme on the Iberian Peninsula (Projecte Liró) and has participated in numerous research projects on small mammals, mesocarnivores and bats. She currently coordinates the terrestrial mammals research area within the BiBio group, where she promotes the monitoring and study of mammals through citizen science, integrating research with science communication and public engagement.
