Julio López-Doval is Biologist and PhD in Fundamental and Applied Ecology. He has been working in freshwater ecology and ecotoxicology in reservoirs and Mediterranean streams. His research is focused on multiple stressors on freshwater macroinvertebrates; he wants to know how chemical pollution interacts with other environmental stressors and their effects on single organisms and communities. In the last years he has investigated the effect of pharmaceuticals and nanomaterials on functional and physiological traits of ecological relevance in freshwater insects and molluscs.
