Clarice de Sousa is a biologist holding a PhD in Crop and Horticultural Sciences. Her academic career has focused on research analyzing how environmental conditions, water availability, and organic inputs influence crop physiology, bioactive compounds, and the nutritional quality of food, with the aim of understanding the mechanisms underpinning more resilient agroecosystems. She spent three years working as a Project Manager in the industrial sector in Portugal, participating in projects related to organic fertilizer production using insects (Hermetia illucens) and combining applied research with project coordination. Her academic and professional journey has taken her to various countries, including Brazil, Hungary, Portugal, and now Spain. She is currently a member of the Sustainable Food and Farming Systems at BETA.
