Roundtable for the sustainable management of livestock farming in Osona
Chaired by the Osona County Council and coordinated by CT BETA.
The main objective of the Roundtable for the sustainable management of livestock farming in Osona is to improve the management of livestock waste in the county. It promotes different strategies for transfer, awareness-raising, research and innovation and collaborative projects in the territory with the aim of promoting and improving the treatment of livestock manure in order to valorise it and export it outside the region, as quality organic fertilisers or other value-added bioproducts.
At the same time, the aim is to reduce the environmental impact caused by inadequate management of livestock manure, which is why strategies for improving fertilisation and application in the field are also being promoted.
This initiative, promoted by the Osona County Council, Creacció and the University of Vic, is chaired by the president of the Osona County Council, coordinated by the Beta Technology Centre, and involves more than 20 companies and organisations from the private sector, public administration, research centres and universities and environmental organisations, all of which are linked to the livestock sector in the county.
