The MED Green Growth community celebrates its final event in the framework of the EU Green Week
The community connects 17 projects, involving 165 entities from 13 Mediterranean countries
For 6 years, the BETA Technological Centre of the UVic-UCC leads the MED Green Growth, a thematic community funded by the European Interreg MED programme to promote green and circular economy in the Mediterranean region. The community connects 17 projects, involving 165 entities from 13 Mediterranean countries. In 2019, its activity received recognition from the Union for the Mediterranean, thanks to its potential to increase the capacity for cooperation in the transition towards a green, circular and inclusive economy.
This Wednesday an event took place in Brussels to close its second phase, which was part of the programme of the EU Green Week, the largest annual event on environmental policy organised in Europe, which takes place from 30 May to 5 June. This year’s EU Green Week focused on strategies to ensure that Europe continues to move towards sustainability and climate neutrality.
The event brought together a wide range of public and private institutions interested in incorporating sustainable practices. The main focus was on the changes needed for companies and public authorities to incorporate new criteria and strategies to increase their sustainability.
