Job description

The BETA Technological Centre is made up of a young and multidisciplinary team of more than 150 employees and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person eager to become part of this project.

The BETA Technological Centre is made up of a young and multidisciplinary team of more than 150 employees and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person eager to become part of this project.

We are seeking a Senior Technician with experience in the prevention of nutrient pollution in agricultural soil through the application of tailor-made fertilizers and regenerative agriculture practices, within the framework of the European project SEACURE, “Innovative Solutions to Prevent, Reduce and Remediate Nutrient Pollution Along the Land-River-Sea System in the Mediterranean Basin”.

The selected person will become part of the Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems team at the BETA Technological Centre.

 

Functions and duties:
– Carry out the technical activities of the SEACURE project, ensuring compliance with the established objectives, results and deadlines.

– Plan and implement project activities, especially those related to the proper application of tailor-made fertilisers and the implementation of regenerative agriculture practices.

– Participate in the design, monitoring and evaluation of actions within the Catalan pilot, field activities and participatory processes with farmers and other stakeholders.

– Contribute to the collection, systematisation and analysis of technical and scientific data generated within the framework of the project.

– Prepare technical and supporting reports, as well as dissemination and knowledge transfer materials.

– Ensure the technical quality of activities and their alignment with the project’s objectives.

– Collaborate in the organisation of meetings, workshops, field visits and other coordination and training activities related to the project.

Requirements

Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff and professional services staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.

If you apply for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post without official recognition of the qualification required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence issued in Spain, together with a Spanish translation of your qualification. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.

If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.

If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.

If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.

  • Title: Higher Vocational Training Qualification (CFGS) or an equivalent qualification in fields related to the subject of the call.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Experiencia en proyectos relacionados con la agricultura regenerativa, la agricultura sostenible, los sistemas agroalimentarios o el desarrollo rural.
  • Ability to plan and monitor the activities proposed within the framework of the project.
  • Knowledge of participatory methodologies and co-creation processes with local stakeholders (agricultural sector, communities, public administrations and other interested parties).
  • Ability to collect, manage and analyse technical or scientific data.
  • Capacitat de redacció d’informes tècnics i documentació de projecte.
  • Knowledge of the principles of regenerative agriculture and the integration of local and scientific knowledge.
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work independently and with internal and external teams in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.

Merits

– University degree or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomic Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Agroecology, Rural Development, Geography, Biology, or related fields.

– Postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree or PhD) in Environmental Agrobiology, Agroecology, Sustainable Agri-food Systems, Rural Development, or related fields.

– Previous experience in European projects (especially PRIMA, Horizon Europe, or similar programmes).

– Experience in fieldwork in regional and national contexts.

– Scientific publications in the proposed research field.

– Knowledge of spoken and written English.
