BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young, multidisciplinary team of 80 researchers, and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person, with leadership skills and eager to be part of this project.
We are looking for a software developer (full stack or frontend). The candidate will join the research line of accounting and optimisation of sustainability in the framework of the project “FOLOU – BRINGING KNOWLEDGE AND CONSENSUS TO PREVENT AND REDUCE FOOD LOS AT THE PRIMARY PRODUCTION STAGE. UNDERSTANDING, MEASURING, TRAINING AND ADOPTING” as technical responsible for tasks related to the development of several web applications, namely: a national and European food loss register and a sustainability assessment platform related to food losses.
Functions and tasks:
– Frontend and usability development of the FOLOU application.
– Backend development and modelling according to experience.
– Preparation of documentation for end users of the developed software.
Requirements
Decree on the homologation of the qualifications of Research Teaching Staff and Administration and Services Staff
According to the Royal Decree 899/2022, the people who apply to the calls for Research Teaching Staff (PDI) and/or Administration and Services Staff (PAS) must present the homologation of the degrees issued abroad, as this is the one that enables the exercise of a regulated profession in Spain.
The group of Research Staff is exempt from this resolution.
- Training cycle qualification Level: Higher level training cycle or equivalent in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
- Accreditation of the level of Catalan proficiency (Level C1) or be in a position to obtain it.
- Accreditation of level B2 in English or be in a position to obtain it.
- Advanced knowledge of one of the following programming languages: JavaScript and/or Python.
Merits
– Degree in computer engineering, technical engineering in computer science, physics, mathematics, telecommunications, environmental sciences and other degrees.
– At least two years of demonstrable experience in professional software development.
– Demonstrable experience in software development. Attach link to personal portfolio /GitHub/ etc.
– Knowledge of a JavaScript frontend framework (preferably Vue3).
– Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, postregSQL, etc.).
– Basic knowledge of sustainability, life cycle analysis and carbon footprint.
