BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 80 researchers, and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a manager of competitive projects and knowledge transfer to join the management team of the centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, control and economic-financial monitoring of competitive projects (especially European) in execution until the final justification and economic closure of the project is carried out, supporting the researcher to ensure the correct implementation of the projects within the deadlines and formats required by each funding body.

Functions and tasks:

  • Control and monitoring of coordinated competitive projects. Communication with the funding agency, communication with partners, preparation of the Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement, preparation and payment procedure of partners, management of consortium amendments, etc.
  • Planning and monitoring of the execution of expenditure and management of changes in competitive projects (management of R&D grant budgets, technical support in project planning, feasibility analysis and redefinition of the budget if necessary, support in the preparation of amendments, adjustments and response to requirements, support in the preparation of financial reports and internal audits).
  • Application and follow-up of labour and/or commercial contracts.
  • Time control and dedication of the centre’s staff (timesheets). – Scheduling and follow-up of the delivery of scientific-technical and economic justifications, as well as audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and funders’ regulations and policies.
  • Registration and continuous updating of projects in internal and external project management tools.

Requirements

Decree on the homologation of the qualifications of Research Teaching Staff and Administration and Services Staff

According to the Royal Decree 899/2022, the people who apply to the calls for Research Teaching Staff (PDI) and/or Administration and Services Staff (PAS) must present the homologation of the degrees issued abroad, as this is the one that enables the exercise of a regulated profession in Spain.

The group of Research Staff is exempt from this resolution.

  • Higher Level Training Cycle in the field of management, environmental sciences, chemistry or related subjects.
  • Accreditation of the level of Catalan proficiency (Level C1) or being in a position to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of level B2 in English or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Advanced command of the Office package (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • Experience in a university or research centre environment.
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and subject to deadlines

Merits

  • University degree in the field: environmental sciences, chemistry or similar.
  • Doctorate in the field: environmental sciences, chemistry or similar.
  • Previous experience in management of competitive research projects.
  • Knowledge of European and international R&D&I funding programmes, especially knowledge of the H2020 Programme and Horizon Europe.
  • Complementary training in research management and knowledge transfer.
