Job description

The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young multidisciplinary team of more than 100 professionals and we are currently looking for a person to join our team. The candidate will work in the area of “Governance for Sustainability”, and will be involved in the implementation of European projects in this area that are or will be implemented at the BETA Technology Centre. Mainly, he/she will work on the ENGAGEgreen project (ERASMUS+), as well as supporting other related projects in the area (Horizon WIDERA SMART4ENV, etc). The candidate will also participate in the preparation of new proposals for fundraising.
Functions and duties:
  • Management and execution of European projects.
  • Planning, monitoring and organisation of project activities and tasks.
  • Organising and participating in international project meetings and events
  • Engaging new projects and termination of European projects (e.g. justifications, etc.)
  • Networking and promotion of new collaborations with national and international interest groups, projects and initiatives.
  • Promotion, fundraising and preparation of new projects.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Advanced Vocational Training in the field of Environmental Sciences, Political Sciences, Economics, or similar.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Previous participation in European projects, preferably ERASMUS+, H2020/Horizon Europe, Interreg MED, in the drafting of technical documents and reports.
  • Knowledge in fields related to the environment, mainly: sustainability, bioeconomy, nutrient management and sustainable development.
  • Knowledge of the public sector; functioning, competences, barriers.
  • Great capacity for organisation and completion of deadlines.
  • Altas habilidades comunicativas; organización de eventos, networking, stakeholder engagement y trabajo en equipo.
  • English Level: B2 or higher
  • Advanced spanish level
  • Willingness and availability to travel.

Merits

  • Previous collaboration with public administrations, Mediterranean and EU institutions (e.g. regional and national administrations, Union for the Mediterranean, European Commission, European Parliament, etc.).
  • Previous experience in the drafting of project proposals and participation in competitive European calls for proposals (ERASMUS +, H2020/Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg, etc.).
  • Knowledge of national/regional, EU and MED legislation and knowledge in the elaboration of policies and governance mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of other languages: French, Arabic, Italian, Greek, etc.
