Job description
The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young multidisciplinary team of more than 110 researchers and seeks to incorporate a dynamic person who wants to be part of this project. We are looking for a technical manager of competitive projects in the field of governance for sustainability who will become part of the centre’s team.
The selected candidate will join the sustainability governance team of the BETA Technology Centre supporting the principal investigator in the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR HUBS project. This project seeks to consolidate a transnational Hub of Excellence to promote the circular bioeconomy towards a sustainable agri-food sector in widening countries. The successful candidate will oversee analysing Regional Smart Specialization Strategies (RIS3), looking for synergies and creating strategies. In turn, it will be able to dedicate itself to other projects of the center.
– Collaborate in the technical management of the Agri-Biocircular-Hub project and participation in project meetings and events.
– Contribute to the mapping and analysis of Regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3) related to the agri-food and biocircular economy in selected regions of Eastern Europe.
– Contribute to the preparation of a report that identifies and analyzes R+D+i priorities and political trends in the selected regions, as well as a framework for possible interregional collaboration.
– Organise and participate in stakeholder consultations, including surveys, focus groups, brainstorming sessions and specific workshops for academics, researchers, SMEs and policymakers across Eastern Europe.
– Assist in the organization of events within the framework of the projects.
– Collaborate in the implementation and monitoring of other strategic projects in the field of governance.
– Assist in the drafting of new proposals for competitive funding.
Requirements
Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.
- Title: Advanced Vocational Training in fields relevant to the position.
- Acreditació del nivell de suficiència de llengua catalana (nivell C1) o estar en condicions d’obtenir-lo#.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Advanced mastery of the Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
- Experience in project management, preferably in the field of circular economy.
- Knowledge of agri-food systems and the circular bioeconomy.
- Knowledge of Regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3).
- Experience in policy analysis and strategic planning.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
- Ability to work independently and in a team
Merits
• University degree in the field: political science, environmental sciences or similar.
• PhD in the field: environmental sciences, governance, bioeconomy or similar.
• Previous experience in technical management of competitive research projects.
• Experience in regional and RIS3CAT studies.
• Knowledge about European Neighbourhood Policy.
