Job description
We are seeking a European Funding and Proposal Development Senior Technician to support the Centre’s research staff in the preparation of competitive European proposals, as well as in the identification and monitoring of European funding opportunities.
The selected candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of the various competitive funding programmes, particularly European programmes such as Horizon Europe, Interreg, PRIMA and LIFE, among others, and provide support to the Centre’s research staff in the preparation of new competitive proposals, both those coordinated by the Centre itself and those in which we participate as partners.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake specialised training, enabling them to develop a clear professional career path in the pre-award field, with the possibility of progressively specialising in the preparation and coordination of competitive proposals and in securing European funding within the Centre’s areas of activity.
– Drafting and reviewing high-quality proposals to secure competitive European funding, in line with the requirements and evaluation criteria of the relevant calls.
– Supporting scientific teams in the conceptualisation, structuring and development of proposals.
– Preparing proposal budgets in accordance with the requirements of the relevant call.
– For proposals coordinated by the Centre, coordinating the proposal preparation process and acting as the main point of contact with consortium partners.
– For proposals in which the Centre participates as a partner, acting as the main point of contact with the coordinating organisation throughout the proposal preparation process.
– Participating in events related to European funding programmes and opportunities to identify new funding opportunities.
– Promoting the Centre to attract new European funding opportunities.
– Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes, methodologies and tools for the preparation of competitive proposals.
Requirements
Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff and professional services staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.
If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.
If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.

- Title: Higher Vocational Training Qualification (CFGS) or an equivalent qualification in fields related to the subject of the call.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Good interpersonal and networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Organised, motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to the project.
- Knowledge of European competitive funding programmes.
- Previous experience in drafting European proposals and coordinating European projects.
