BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 80 researchers, and is looking for a dynamic and motivated person eager to be part of this project. One of the main missions of the BETA TC is to be a key actor for the sustainable development of society, with a special impact at territorial level and in rural societies through strategic projects in the field of the bioeconomy that allow to dynamize the territories/regions and to transfer knowledge, technologies and innovation. The successful candidate will join the Territorial and Sectorial Transfer and projects group to support the organisation of strategic activities and to establish relationships with the different actors of the territory, especially with actors of the nutrient value chain and the agri-food sector. Among others, the main activity of the person joining will be to carry out tasks related to the organisation of the 5th European Phosphorus Conference (ESPC5) that will take place in Lleida in October 2024.

Functions and duties:
– Organisational tasks for the 5th European Phosphorus Conference (ESPC5): contact with Catalan, Spanish and European entities; preparation of promotional material for the conference; contact with sponsors to close agreements and ensure that they are fulfilled; management of other organisational aspects of the event (registration, catering, logistics).

– Participation in the preparation of technical conferences, working sessions, demonstration activities, knowledge transfer conferences and technical visits, among others.

– Publicising and promoting the Beta Technology Centre, its capacities and services to relevant actors in the territory, as well as in strategic conferences.

– Accompanying the centre’s researchers to transfer knowledge and technology and to promote projects with companies and other entities in the sector.

– Support in the implementation of strategic projects for the sector and the territory.

Requirements

• Advanced vocational training in the field of the environment, sustainability, agri-food sector, social sciences, natural sciences or similar.
• Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
• Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
• Communication and networking skills
• Knowledge of the agri-food sector and its needs and challenges.
• Capacity for empathy and communication with agents, companies and entities in the sector.
• Organisational skills. Ability and responsibility to work under tight deadlines.
• High level of office suite, including spreadsheets.
• Motivation and interest in helping to promote the bioeconomy and the improvement of the sustainability of the agri-food and environmental sector, the territory and society, especially in rural environments.

Merits

– University degree in areas related to the agri-food sector, sustainability and bioeconomy.
– Previous work with entities and/or projects focused on the bioeconomy and sustainability of the agri-food sector or similar.
– Experience in organising events, webinars, networking activities, etc.
– Experience in public funding lines for the implementation of innovation and transfer projects.
