Job description

The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young multidisciplinary team of more than 90 researchers, and is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project. We are looking for an administrative technician, expert in the field of finance, to join the centre’s management team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the managers of the BETA centre in the economic management of the projects, among other tasks, will prepare the economic justifications of the research projects, will also participate in other tasks such as the management of operating expenses of the projects, the management of the basal budget of the research group, apart from the accounting of credit reserves and various expenses, under the coordination of the head of the Project Management Unit and the head of Economic Management of the BETA Centre and in collaboration with the Area of Economic and Personnel Management (AGEP).

Functions and tasks:

  • Control and management of the economic justification of research and knowledge transfer projects, as well as the compilation of supporting documentation.
  • Accounting of credit reserves and operating expenses linked to research projects, knowledge transfer and general activity of the BETA centre, among others.
  • Preparation and processing of purchase and payment orders related to R&D&I activities, as well as management of associated minor contracts.
  • Review of the accounting linked to the research activity.
  • Control and monitoring of the research group’s budget and processing of the execution of related expenses.
  • Participation in the budget monitoring for academic years both at the global level of the BETA centre and specifically for the projects.
  • Preparation of financial reports.


Decree on the homologation of the qualifications of Research Teaching Staff and Administration and Services Staff

According to the Royal Decree 899/2022, the people who apply to the calls for Research Teaching Staff (PDI) and/or Administration and Services Staff (PAS) must present the homologation of the degrees issued abroad, as this is the one that enables the exercise of a regulated profession in Spain.

The group of Research Staff is exempt from this resolution.

  • Intermediate Level Training Cycle in the field of administration and finance, accountancy or related subjects
  • Accreditation of the level of Catalan proficiency (Level C1) or being in a position to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of level B2 in English or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Advanced command of the Office package (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • More than two years of professional experience in economic management and accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as SAP
  • Ability to organise and work as part of a team


  • Higher education in the field of economics and finance.
  • Experience at university or research centre level.
  • Experience in economic management of research activities
  • Ability to manage applications and justifications of projects in the field of R+D+i.
