Description:
BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of 100 researchers and is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project.
We are looking for a laboratory technician, who will become part of the team of the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy Unit of the BETA Technology Centre.
The selected person, will support the researchers of this unit, in carrying out experimental tasks of various projects, focused mainly on the application of environmental technologies to valorise various waste from the agri-food sector.

Functions and tasks:
– Support in the operation of pilot plants both in CT BETA’s facilities and also installed in companies in the Catalan territory.
– Support in the performance of various experimental tasks at laboratory level.
– Sampling in different facilities.
– Physico-chemical characterisation of samples.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Training cycle qualification Level: Intermediate-level vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
  • Accreditation of the level of Catalan proficiency (Level C1) or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of level B2 in English or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Good skills in carrying out experimental tasks.
  • Motivation, commitment and willingness to learn.

Merits

– University degree in: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or similar.
– Previous experience in environmental technologies.
– Experience in sample characterisation and physico-chemical analysis.
– Knowledge of Instrumental Analytical Chemistry, mainly: Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Atomic Absorption, Instrumental Combustion Techniques.
