Description:
BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 100 researchers and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person eager to be part of this project.
We are looking for a laboratory technician who will carry out sample analysis tasks for the centre’s researchers, focusing mainly on research and innovation projects of the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy Unit at the BETA Technology Centre.

Functions and tasks:
– Pre-treatment and sample preparation of various matrices (wastewater, sludge, slurry, digestate…).
– Characterisation of physico-chemical parameters of these samples.
– Completion of results reports.
– Support for laboratory management tasks (calibrations, equipment maintenance, waste management, etc.).
– Support for the development of new analytical methods required in the research projects of the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy team.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Intermediate-level vocational training in areas related to the subject of the call for applications
  • Accreditation of proficiency level in Catalan (level C1) or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of level B2 in English or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Have previously worked in other chemical analysis laboratories, preferably in the field of soil sciences and research.
  • Knowledge of classical analytical techniques (gravimetries and volumetries).

Merits

– University degree in: Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or similar.
– Experience in the characterisation of samples of environmental origin.
– Knowledge of Instrumental Analytical Chemistry, mainly: Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Atomic Absorption, Instrumental Combustion Techniques.
