Description:

The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young, multidisciplinary team of more than 80 researchers, and is looking for a dynamic person with leadership skills and eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a part-time (25 hours per week) science communication technician to support the centre’s corporate communication tasks and the implementation of communication plans for various projects of the centre. We are looking for a person with knowledge in science communication and motivation to grow professionally in this field, flexible and with initiative to learn to move in a diverse and multicultural environment.

 

Functions and tasks:

– Support in the rethinking and implementation of the corporate communication plan of the BETA Technology Centre.
– Support in the definition and implementation of communication plans of the centre’s projects, especially European projects coordinated by the centre.
– Updating and maintenance of the BETA Technology Centre’s corporate website.
– Writing scientific news and press releases.
– Creation of informative and promotional content in other formats (posters, banners and other digital and printed graphic materials).
– Management and dynamisation of content on social networks.
– Supporting the organisation of scientific dissemination events.
– Supporting the management of relations with the media.

Requirements

Decree on the homologation of the qualifications of Research Teaching Staff and Administration and Services Staff

According to the Royal Decree 899/2022, the people who apply to the calls for Research Teaching Staff (PDI) and/or Administration and Services Staff (PAS) must present the homologation of the degrees issued abroad, as this is the one that enables the exercise of a regulated profession in Spain.

The group of Research Staff is exempt from this resolution.

  • Qualification: Intermediate-level vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
  • Accreditation of Catalan proficiency level (Level C1) or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Familiarity with social networks.
  • Knowledge of content creation tools: CANVA, Genially, video management programmes, etc.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English (equivalent to B2 level).

Merits

  • University degree or equivalent in the field of communication, journalism, marketing or public relations or in the scientific field.
  • Complementary Master’s or Postgraduate training (completed or in progress) related to Science Communication.
  • Previous experience in corporate communication or European project communication, preferably related to science or research.
  • Knowledge of the world, science and scientific institutions.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend scientific articles.
  • Knowledge of graphic and digital design.
  • Basic knowledge of photography and video editing.
  • Interest and care for language, and neatness in linguistic correctness.

This job offer includes

Incorporation within the professional group of PAS, Technical Staff of Administration and Services.
Type of temporary contract
25-hour working week
Gross annual salary: 15.894,20 €.
