Description:
BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young, multidisciplinary team of more than 100 researchers and is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project.
We are looking for a field technician who will become part of the team of the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy Unit of the BETA Technology Centre.
The person will support the researchers of this unit in carrying out experimental tasks, especially in the field, of several projects focused mainly on the application of environmental technologies to assess various wastes from the agri-food sector.

Functions and duties:
– Carrying out solid waste valorisation experiments at pilot level.
– Monitoring of composting experiments.
– Monitoring and measurement of gaseous emissions in various scenarios (composting piles, manure ponds, farms, etc.).
– Support in the operation of pilot plants both at C.T. BETA’s facilities and also installed in companies in Catalonia.
– Physico-chemical characterisation of samples.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Vocational training: Intermediate-level vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Good skills in the performance of experimental tasks.
  • Motivation, commitment and willingness to learn.

Merits

– University degree or bachelor’s degree in: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or similar.
– Previous experience in environmental technologies.
– Experience in sample characterisation and physico-chemical analysis.
