Description:
BETA Technology Center is formed by a young, multidisciplinary team of 100 people, which seeks to incorporate a dynamic and eager to be part of this project focused on impact research and the transition to circular bioeconomy in the territory and society.
The candidate will join the “Sustainability Analysis” research area of the BETA Technology Center as scientific-technical staff.
The person will manage and execute tasks related to sustainability assessment in European projects and transfer projects with companies, in which innovative technologies in the field of circular bioeconomy are evaluated and methodologies and databases are developed for the improvement of sustainability quantification in the agri-food field. Currently, the area is composed of a highly dynamic, innovative, multidisciplinary group with a close and collaborative work environment. We are 12 experts from fields such as engineering, environmental sciences, sociology and economics.
Functions and duties:
• Collaborate with project management (attendance to project meetings, preparation of deliverables, reports, etc.).
• Provide technical support to tasks related to the evaluation and optimization of sustainability in competitive projects: environmental, economic and social sustainability.
• Participation in the preparation of new proposals to raise new funds

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Vocational training: Ciclo formativo de grado medio en ámbitos relacionados con el objeto de la convocatoria.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Basic knowledge of life cycle analysis software, especially OpenLCA (also Gabi, SimaPro or Brightway).
  • Previous experience in the execution of projects with the private sector.
  • Previous participation in European projects.
  • Programming skills in languages such as R or Python.

Merits

• Degree or Bachelor’s degree in the fields of: Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or similar.
