The BETA Technological Center is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 100 researchers, and is willing to incorporate a dynamic person, with leadership skills that want to be part of this project.
We are looking to incorporate a senior researcher, expert in environmental technologies with experience and motivation to continue developing his/her professional career in our center. The selected candidate will work actively in the Environmental Technologies and Circular Bioeconomy Unit, and will be involved in several European projects of this unit, mainly focused on the recovery of nutrients from various waste effluents, especially from the agri-food sector.
The selected candidate will also work together with other units of the center. On the one hand, he/she will actively collaborate with the Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems Unit, in order to assess the agronomic quality of the recovered bio-based fertilizing products. On the other hand, together with the Sustainability Governance Unit, they will jointly address the legislative challenges of recovered nutrients, providing scientific evidence to help in decision-making.
Finally, the candidate will also have an active role in networks, such as in the entire process of creating the Catalan Nutrients Platform.

• Design and implementation of pilot plants including technologies for the recovery of nutrients (anaerobic digestion, stripping-scrubbing, membranes, composting, among others).
• Experimental design.
• Supervision of the experimental execution of technical staff and junior researchers.
• Analysis and processing of results and preparation of technical reports and scientific articles.
• Writing of proposals for attracting new funding.
• Collaboration with other units of the center to be able to offer integral solutions in the field of sustainable nutrient management.
• Active role in networks in the field of nutrients, having an active role in the creation of the Catalan Nutrient Platform.

Requirements
- Doctorate in the field: Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or similar. #(mínim 3 anys des de la finalització de la tesi)#
- University degree in the field: University degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or similar.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it
- Post-doctoral experience of at least 3 years in the field of environmental technologies.
- Experience in Design, operation and optimization of bioreactors and/or other processes.
- European driving license.
