Job description
The BETA Technology Center is made up of a young and multidisciplinary team of more than 100 researchers and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person eager to be part of this project. We are seeking a pre-award project manager who can carry out tasks related to opportunity scouting and promotion to attract new competitive funding, as well as support researchers at the center in preparing competitive European proposals.
The selected candidate should have a thorough understanding of various competitive funding programs, particularly European ones such as Horizon Europe, Interreg, PRIMA, LIFE, etc., and support researchers in preparing new competitive proposals, both those coordinated by the center and those where we participate as partners. Training opportunities will be provided to ensure a clear professional development path in the pre-award field, allowing the candidate to specialize in opportunity scouting and proposal writing within the center’s areas of work.
– Writing high-quality proposals to secure European competitive funding, following the guidelines of various calls.
– Preparing proposal budgets in accordance with the requirements of the funding calls.
– Acting as the main contact for partners and coordinating proposal preparation in the case of coordinated projects.
– Acting as the main contact with the coordinator in projects where we participate as partners.
– Attending informational events related to funding calls to identify opportunities.
– Promoting the center to attract new European funding opportunities.
Requirements
Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.
- Vocational training: Advanced Vocational Training in fields relevant to the position.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Good social and networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Organized, motivated, proactive person with a strong commitment to the project.
- Knowledge of European competitive funding programs.
