UVic-UCC is a young and very dynamic university in Central Catalonia, with a special commitment to quality teaching, innovative research and internationalisation. The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young, multidisciplinary team of more than 100 professionals, and is looking for a dynamic person eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a national, competitive and contract project manager to join the centre’s project management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and processing of grant applications and the administrative, financial and legal management of funded national competitive projects. He/she will carry out the economic-financial monitoring of the projects in execution until the final justification and economic closure of the project is carried out.
Functions and duties:
– Dissemination of funding opportunities.
– Support to researchers in the preparation of grant proposals.
– Management of grant acceptance and negotiation procedures.
– Interlocution with funding bodies.
– Control and monitoring of coordinated competitive projects.
– Planning and monitoring of the execution of expenditure and management of changes in national competitive projects.
– Application and monitoring of labour and/or commercial contracts.
– Time control and dedication of the centre’s staff (timesheets).
– Scheduling and monitoring of the delivery of scientific-technical and economic justifications, as well as audits.
– Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and funders’ regulations and policies.
– Registration and continuous updating of projects in internal and external project management tools.
– Preparation of knowledge transfer agreements with companies and entities.
– Administrative follow-up of knowledge transfer agreements with companies.
The candidate will carry out these functions in coordination with the Technical Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer (OTRI) of the UVic-UCC.
Requirements
Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.
- Vocational training: Advanced vocational training or equivalent in fields related to the call for applications
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Advanced knowledge of the Office package (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
- Knowledge of state and Catalan R&D&I funding programmes.
- Communication skills, organisational, flexible, with autonomy of work and time management.
- Planning and global vision, communication and team spirit, user orientation, problem solving and orientation to continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure and subject to deadlines.
