Job description

The BETA Technology Center is made up of a young and multidisciplinary team of more than 150 professionals committed to research and knowledge transfer to address environmental and sustainability challenges. We are at a strategic moment of institutional transformation: the center is in the process of transitioning to an independent Foundation and integrating into the CERCA center system of the Generalitat de Catalunya, a key step that will strengthen our governance, legal solidity and growth capacity.

In this context, we are looking to incorporate a Legal Services Specialist who will provide specialized support in all processes related to legal management, foundational governance, contracting, data protection and regulatory compliance. The selected person will work very directly with management and leadership, playing a transversal role of high value in a stage of change and structural consolidation.

 

Functions and tasks:
• Provide support to the management of the BETA Center in all the legal and legal part of the deployment process of the new Foundation.
• Advise on issues of labor regime and contractual relations of personnel, in coordination with the Talent Management area.
• Advise on public or private procurement, reviewing and drafting contracts, agreements, collaboration agreements and other legal instruments.
• Ensure the legal adequacy of purchases, tenders, hiring and internal processes, guaranteeing criteria of transparency and legal security.
• Provide support in corporate document management: agreements of governing bodies, policies, registers, archives and internal manuals.
• Supervise and guarantee the center’s regulatory compliance in matters such as data protection (GDPR/LOPDGDD), intellectual property, transparency, prevention of legal risks, etc.
• Provide legal support in competitive project management processes, especially in the review of clauses, obligations and legal risks.
• Write reports, opinions and other legal documents to support management and management.
• Update and maintain internal protocols and procedures linked to regulations, governance and administrative procedures.

Requirements

Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff and professional services staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.

If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.

If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.

If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.

  • Title: Degree or degree in law or similar
  • Accreditation of the level of Catalan language proficiency (level C1) or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of the B2 level of English or be in a position to obtain it.
  • Previous experience in legal areas, legal advice or administrative management linked to regulations and contracting.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret and apply administrative, civil, commercial and labor legislation.
  • Good writing skills, legal analysis and documentation management.
  • Ability to work autonomously, organized and oriented to technical quality.
  • Communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
