Job description
The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young multidisciplinary team of more than 130 researchers and is looking to recruit a dynamic individual with leadership skills who is keen to be part of this project. We are looking for someone who specialises in the development and application of solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data analysis, with a focus on improving internal knowledge management, automating processes and generating value from existing information. The candidate will join the BETA Technology Centre’s ‘Green Digital Transition’ research line as the person responsible for introducing AI and data analysis modules in several European projects, as well as in some transfer projects with companies. For example, integration into the Carbon Farming MED project tools.
• Design, development and integration of AI modules and advanced data processing systems in European projects, such as Carbon Farming Med.
• Coordination, execution and promotion of transfer projects with companies.
• Support and training in the use of AI tools in other scientific and management units, ensuring confidentiality and information security.
• Development of internal tools for the centre.
• Support for the application of new proposals to attract new European funding.
Requirements
Decree on the approval of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and professional service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022 (Reial Decret 889/2022), official recognition of qualifications issued abroad may grant access to regulated professions in Spain.
If you apply for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post, and do not have official recognition of the qualification required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence, together with a Spanish translation of your degree certificate. You can also submit your equivalence declaration application, undertaking to submit the official equivalence declaration within 3 years. (Non-compliance will lead to termination of your employment contract, in accordance with Article 49b of Spanish Royal Decree 2/2015 of 23 October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.)
If you apply for a professional service staff post (PTGAS) without official recognition of the university degree required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence, together with a Spanish translation of your degree certificate. You can also submit an equivalence declaration application, undertaking to submit the official equivalence declaration within 3 years. (Non-compliance will lead to termination of your employment contract, in accordance with Article 49b of Spanish Royal Decree 2/2015 of 23 October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.) If you submit a non-university qualification, you should submit an official recognition certificate, conforming to the specific regulations for your country of origin.
- Title: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Environmental Science, Physics, or related fields.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Experience in real AI projects
- Knowledge of programming and development (e.g. Python, pandas, flask, SQL, Apios RISTRA, etc.) and secure data management methodologies
- Knowledge of machine learning (ML), deep learning, NLP, or computer vision
- Proficiency in AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-*learn) and experience in their practical application
- Previous experience in implementing projects with the private sector
Merits
