Job description
The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young, multidisciplinary team of 100 people, which is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project focused on the search for impact and the transition to the circular bio-economy in the territory and society.
The candidate will join the Sustainability Analysis research area of the BETA Technology Centre as scientific-technical staff.
The selected person will manage and execute tasks related to sustainability assessment in the framework of the FOODTURE project, in addition to carrying out certain tasks of the scientific and technical coordination of the project. In which methodologies and databases are developed to improve the quantification of sustainability in the agri-food field.
Currently, the area is made up of a highly dynamic, innovative, multidisciplinary group with a close and collaborative work environment. We are 12 experts from fields such as engineering, environmental sciences, sociology and economics.
• Execution of evaluation tasks of case studies on agri-food production and sustainability in the framework of the FOODTURE project.
• Technical management of the project, including support to the scientific coordination: leadership and participation in consortium meetings, preparation and coordination of deliverables, and scientific management of the consortium.
• To Strengthen the line of evaluation of the sustainability of the agri-food sector.
Requirements
Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

University degree in the field: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or similar.

Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.

Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.

Previous participation in European projects.
Merits
• PhD in chemical engineering, biotechnology, biology, environmental sciences or similar.
• Experience in team leadership.
• Advanced command of life cycle analysis software, especially OpenLCA (Gabi, SimaPro or Brightway).
