The BETA TC joins the International Coalition for Research and Innovation in Ukraine

This invitation recognises the active role that the BETA TC has played in integrating the Ukrainian scientific community into Europe

The BETA TC has been invited to join the International Coalition for Science, Research and Innovation in Ukraine. This new alliance is promoted by the European Commission, the Ukrainian government, UNESCO and the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research, and aims to strengthen the Ukrainian research ecosystem. The coalition was officially presented in Rome on 11 July 2025 as part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference.

Thanks to this membership, several BETA TC representatives will be able to participate in technical meetings to define Ukraine’s needs, priorities and lines of scientific cooperation. This will allow them to contribute directly to the development of new mechanisms to support Ukrainian science and open up new avenues for international collaboration.

This invitation recognises the active role that the BETA TC has played in integrating the Ukrainian scientific community into Europe. The centre coordinates the #ScienceForUkraine initiative in Spain, an international network supporting researchers displaced by the conflict, facilitating research stays, and promoting the continuation of scientific activity in Ukraine.

The promoters of the coalition also recognise the impetus that the centre has given to competitive European projects such as SURE AMR and the Agri-biocircular Hub, which connect European and Ukrainian institutions in areas such as agroecology, the circular economy, and combatting antibiotic resistance.

By joining the coalition, the BETA TC will begin working in a structured manner with other international institutions, participating in the definition of European research and coordination agendas. This will also consolidate the links that CT BETA has forged with Ukrainian research groups in recent years.
