Description:
The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young multidisciplinary team of more than 90 researchers, and is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project. We are looking for a Technician with experience in the field of finance, to join the management team of the centre. The selected person will be responsible for supporting the managers of the BETA centre in the economic management of the projects, among other tasks, will prepare the economic justifications of the research projects, will also participate in other tasks such as the management of operating expenses of the projects, the management of the basal budget of the research group, apart from the accounting of credit reserves and various expenses, under the coordination of the head of the Project Management Unit of the BETA Centre and in collaboration with the Area of Economic and Personnel Management (AGEP).

 

Functions and duties:
– Control and management of the economic justification of research and knowledge transfer projects, as well as the compilation of the supporting documentation of these.
– Accounting of credit reserves and operating expenses linked to research projects, knowledge transfer and general activity of the BETA centre, among others.
– Elaboration and processing of purchase and payment orders linked to the R&D&I activity, as well as management of associated minor contracts.
– Review of the accounting linked to the research activity.
– Control and monitoring of the research group’s budget and processing of the execution of related expenses.
– Participation in the budget monitoring by academic years, both at the global level of the BETA centre and specifically for the projects.
– Preparation of financial reports.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Vocational training: Intermediate-level vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Advanced command of the Office package (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • Professional experience of more than two years in economic management and accounting.
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting software.
  • Ability to organise and work as part of a team.
