Description:
The BETA Technology Centre is formed by a young, multidisciplinary team of 100 researchers and technicians, and is looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this project.
We are looking for a Technician of European competitive projects to join the management team of the center.
The selected person will be responsible for the management, control and economic-financial monitoring of European competitive projects in execution until the final justification and economic closure of the same, supporting the researcher to ensure the correct implementation of the projects within the deadlines and formats required by each funding body.
Among the projects to be managed there will be coordinated projects, where the person incorporated as Financial Manager, acting as a liaison between the different members of the consortium and the funding agency in terms of administrative, legal and financial tasks.
He/she will also be able to support the researcher and the Business Developer of the center in the preparation of funding proposals and in their submission and acceptance.

 

Functions and duties:
– Control and monitoring of coordinated competitive projects (mainly Horizon Europe Programme). Communication with the funding agency, communication with partners, preparation of Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement, preparation and payment procedure of partners, management of consortium amendments, etc.
– Planning and monitoring of expenditure execution and change management of competitive projects (management of R&D grant budgets, technical support in project planning, feasibility analysis and redefinition of the budget if necessary, support in the preparation of amendments, adjustments and response to requirements, support in the preparation of financial reports and internal audits).
– Application and follow-up of labor and/or commercial contracts.
– Time control and dedication of the center’s staff (timesheets).
– Scheduling and follow-up of the delivery of scientific-technical and economic justifications, as well as audits.
– Ensuring compliance with institutional policies and funders’ regulations and policies.
– Registration and continuous updating of projects in internal and external project management tools.

Requirements

Spanish Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and service staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, those who apply for teaching and research staff (PDI) or service staff (PAS) posts should have any qualifications issued abroad officially recognised in Spain, since such approval qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain. Research-only staff are exempt from this requirement.

  • Vocational training: Advanced training course (CFGS) in fields related to the subject of the call.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Advanced command of the Office package (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • Previous experience (at least 2 years) in management of competitive research projects.
  • Knowledge of European and international R+D+I funding programs, especially knowledge of the H2020 Program and Horizon Europe.
  • Experience in the university or research center field.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Merits

– University degree in the field of environmental sciences, chemistry, biology, engineering, social sciences, law or similar.
– Doctorate degree.
– Experience in consortium coordination for the development of European projects.
– C1 level of English
– Knowledge of state and Catalan R+D+i funding programs.
