Job description

The BETA Technological Centre is made up of a young and multidisciplinary team of more than 150 employees and is looking to incorporate a dynamic person eager to become part of this project.

We are seeking a specialist in European Funding and Proposal Preparation to support the Centre’s research staff in the preparation of competitive European proposals, as well as in the identification and monitoring of European funding opportunities.

The selected person must have in-depth knowledge of the different competitive funding programmes, especially European ones such as Horizon Europe, Interreg, PRIMA and LIFE, among others. They will join the Centre’s pre-award team with a high degree of autonomy, responsibility and coordination capacity, providing support to research staff in the preparation of new competitive proposals, both those coordinated by the Centre itself and those in which the Centre participates as a partner.

 

Functions and duties:
– Drafting and reviewing high-quality proposals for the acquisition of competitive European funding, in accordance with the requirements and evaluation criteria of the different calls.

– Providing specialised advice to scientific teams on the conceptualisation, structuring and development of proposals.

– Preparing proposal budgets in accordance with the requirements established in the call specifications.

– Leading the coordination of proposals coordinated by the Centre, including acting as the main point of contact with partner organisations, coordinating tasks and resolving issues during the proposal preparation process.

– For proposals in which the Centre participates as a partner, acting as the main point of contact with the coordinating organisation during the proposal preparation process.

– Participating in events related to European funding programmes and opportunities to identify new funding opportunities.

– Representing the Centre at events, networks and networking spaces related to European programmes, with the aim of generating new opportunities and collaborations.

– Leading the continuous improvement of internal processes, methodologies and tools for the preparation of competitive proposals.

Requirements

Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff and professional services staff

According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.

If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.

If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.

If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.

  • Title: University degree or bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Business Administration and Management, Law, Political Science, International Relations, or related disciplines.
  • Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
  • Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Organised, motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to the project.
  • Knowledge of European competitive funding programmes.
  • Previous experience in drafting European project proposals and/or coordinating European projects.
