Job description
We are seeking a Sustainability Technician in Agri-food Systems to support the Centre’s research staff in the implementation of European projects in the field of sustainability assessment.
The selected person will carry out tasks related to sustainability assessment in European projects and knowledge transfer projects with companies, in which technologies and production processes in the agri-food sector are assessed. They will also contribute to the development of databases aimed at improving the quantification of sustainability in this field.
The selected person will join the “Sustainability Accounting and Optimisation” research line of the BETA Technological Centre as a Technician, within the framework of the HE FOODTURE “Food for the Future: Environmental Quantification and Impact Reduction project”, supporting the technical implementation of the tasks related to this project at the BETA Technological Centre.
The opportunity to undertake training will be provided so that the person can develop a clear professional career path and progressively specialise in sustainability assessment.
– Providing technical support for tasks related to the assessment and optimisation of sustainability in competitive projects, particularly in the field of environmental sustainability.
– Transposition of national-level datasets for their incorporation into LCA databases in the agri-food sector.
– Development of production and food loss data for large-scale data analysis.
Requirements
Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff and professional services staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.
If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.
If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.
If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.
- Title: Higher Vocational Training Qualification in fields related to the subject of the call.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
- Organised, motivated, proactive and committed to the project.
- Knowledge of sustainability assessment tools.
Merits
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Agri-food Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
