David López-Bosch is an ecologist and PhD researcher affiliated with the Granollers Museum of Natural Sciences and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), where he is pursuing his doctoral research. His work focuses on the use of citizen science data and bat monitoring to assess the conservation status of European bat species and develop bioindicators of habitat quality.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to projects on biodiversity conservation, species and habitat management and restoration, science communication and public participation in research. He has also taken part in several bat research and conservation projects in Catalonia and internationally, including studies on the effects of hydroelectric developments on bat populations in Southeast Asia and the monitoring of threatened species using bioacoustics, radio-tracking, GPS tagging and capture techniques.

He currently leads the development of the citizen science platform batmonitoring.org and is involved in several monitoring and conservation projects focused on cave-dwelling and trawling bats. His work places particular emphasis on the application of non-invasive monitoring methods and on engaging citizens in generating knowledge to support biodiversity conservation and decision-making.
