Ferran Páramo

Web development manager

Ferran Páramo holds a degree in Biology and an MSc in Geographic Information Technologies. He specialises in biodiversity information systems, with extensive experience in web application development, data management and geospatial technologies.

Between 2002 and 2008, he worked at the European Environment Agency, where he contributed to the development of standardised methodologies for analysing land-use change across Europe using the CORINE Land Cover database. He has also been involved in the development of several citizen science platforms, including Projecte Rius (Associació Hàbitats) and the Orenetes, Nius and Marques Especials projects of the Catalan Ornithological Institute.

He is currently a member of the BiBio Research Group at the Granollers Museum of Natural Sciences, where he is responsible for developing the web applications that support citizen science wildlife monitoring programmes, as well as the systems for storing, managing and analysing the data they generate.
