Carles Flaquer is a biologist and PhD in Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology. His research has focused on the study of bats in Catalonia, developing and testing methodologies to understand the distribution and ecology of their populations. This work has given rise to European-wide monitoring platforms such as www.ratpenats.org, which facilitate the collection and analysis of scientific data.

Currently, Carles coordinates BiBio’s citizen science-based monitoring programs, ensuring that they operate within a solid and efficient network. His main responsibilities include keeping the team cohesive and aligned with the mission and objectives, as well as ensuring that the research effectively contributes to the conservation of biodiversity.
