Job description
We are seeking a junior pre-award officer to join the centre’s Project Management team.
The successful candidate will participate in the preparation of competitive European proposals, contributing to the management and monitoring of the proposal preparation process, both for projects coordinated by the centre and those in which it participates as a partner.
They will work in coordination with the pre-award team and the centre’s researchers, collaborating on various tasks associated with proposal preparation and gaining practical insight into European funding programmes such as Horizon Europe, Interreg and PRIMA, amongst others.

– Involvement in the preparation of competitive European proposals, contributing to various stages of the process in coordination with the pre-award team.
– Support in the preparation and review of proposal budgets.
– Management and organisation of the documentation required for the submission of proposals.
– Support in monitoring tasks and deadlines during the proposal preparation process, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the calls for proposals.
– Collaboration in the preparation of proposal content, in coordination with the pre-award team.
– Interaction with researchers and external partners for the collection and management of information, in coordination with the pre-award team.
– Support in the preparation and maintenance of tools, templates and supporting documents for the pre-award process.
– Support the preparation of the centre’s internal and external dissemination activities relating to calls for proposals and funding opportunities.
– Support the recording and updating of proposal information in internal management tools.
Requirements
Decree on recognition of qualifications of teaching and research staff and professional services staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, recognition of qualifications issued abroad qualifies for the exercise of regulated professions in Spain.
If you apply for a professional services staff (PTGAS) post without the required recognised university degree, you may submit a declaration of equivalence of your degree in Spain, together with a translation of the degree into Spanish. The application for this declaration is also valid, subject to a commitment to submit the declaration of equivalence itself within a period of 3 years at most. If the requirement is not met within this period, the contract will be terminated in accordance with Article 49 (b) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 2/2015, of 23rd October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.
If you hold a recognised Spanish master’s degree, you may qualify for hiring, but this will not exempt you from the requirement to submit a declaration of equivalence of the qualification in the call.
If you submit a non-university qualification, when call provisions allow for this, you should include recognition of the qualification in accordance with the specific regulatory framework of the country of origin.
- Title: Intermediate vocational training course in fields related to the subject of the call for applications.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience (minimum 6 months) in project management, administration or research support roles.
- Organisational skills and time management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Someone who is organised, proactive and keen to learn.
Merits
– A university degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, engineering, social sciences, law or a related field.
– Experience in a university or research centre setting.
– C1 level in English.
– Knowledge of competitive European and international R&D&I funding programmes (Horizon Europe, Interreg, LIFE, etc.).
– Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan R&D&I funding programmes.
– Additional training in project management or research management.
