Pilot Plants and shared infrastructures

Pilot Plants and shared infrastructures

Our shared pilot plants and infrastructures provide a professional environment for testing, validating and demonstrating innovative technologies.

The BETA Technology Centre promotes a new shared infrastructures scheme that makes its pilot plants available to external users with the aim of accelerating innovation and strengthening knowledge transfer to the territory. The scheme is open to companies, professionals, research organisations and technology centres, and serves as a strategic tool to bring science and technology closer to society.

In this context, BETA is consolidating its role as a reference hub for showcasing emerging innovations and for providing technical and scientific support to the agri-food, environmental and bioeconomy sectors. The initiative has started with the development of a pilot plants catalogue including technical datasheets describing the available equipment, their applications and the types of processes that can be validated.

The catalogue includes infrastructures in the following areas:

  • Technologies for the treatment of manure and residual streams
  • Nature-based solutions
  • Biorefinery and biomass valorisation equipment
  • Nutrient and resource recovery systems
  • Technologies for pilot-scale demonstration and validation
