Job description
The BETA Technology Centre was founded in November 2014 as a team of just three people. The enthusiasm and dedication of our young, dynamic and multidisciplinary team has led us to grow to more than 100 people working cohesively with the mission of contributing to the sustainable development of rural communities and improving their competitiveness and quality of life. The main driver for fulfilling this mission is both the implementation of research and innovation projects in the field of agri-food systems and the environment, and the transfer of innovative and competitive technology that incorporates sustainability criteria to the private sector. Similarly, the Centre also works to increase the impact of science at all levels, including its impact on public policy, development cooperation and science diplomacy.
C.T. BETA continues to grow and consolidate its track record and is looking to hire a motivated individual who wishes to establish themselves as a senior technician in the field of assessing the social dimension of projects, organisations and technologies. The successful candidate will join the scientific team of ‘Accounting and Sustainability Optimisation’ as a technical manager responsible for tasks related to the assessment of the social impact of research, innovation and transfer entities and organisations, and will provide technical support in the implementation of European, national and regional projects to attract new funding.
Functions and duties:
– Assessment of the social and economic impact of the BETA Technology Centre.
– Design, development and application of indicators to measure the social and economic impact of research, innovation and transfer projects and initiatives.
– Technical manager of assessments of the social dimension of environmental projects for various sectors.
– Preparation of social and economic impact reports, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
– Performing tasks related to the technical management of projects.
Requirements
Decree on the approval of qualifications of teaching and research staff, and professional service staff
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022 (Reial Decret 889/2022), official recognition of qualifications issued abroad may grant access to regulated professions in Spain.
If you apply for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post, and do not have official recognition of the qualification required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence, together with a Spanish translation of your degree certificate. You can also submit your equivalence declaration application, undertaking to submit the official equivalence declaration within 3 years. (Non-compliance will lead to termination of your employment contract, in accordance with Article 49b of Spanish Royal Decree 2/2015 of 23 October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.)
If you apply for a professional service staff post (PTGAS) without official recognition of the university degree required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence, together with a Spanish translation of your degree certificate. You can also submit an equivalence declaration application, undertaking to submit the official equivalence declaration within 3 years. (Non-compliance will lead to termination of your employment contract, in accordance with Article 49b of Spanish Royal Decree 2/2015 of 23 October, approving the revised text of the Workers’ Statute.) If you submit a non-university qualification, you should submit an official recognition certificate, conforming to the specific regulations for your country of origin.
- Title: Higher vocational training or equivalent in fields related to the subject of the call.
- Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.
- Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies for evaluating the social and economic dimensions of research, innovation and/or transfer projects.
- Previous experience in implementing research and technology transfer projects in the field of sustainability.
- Technical skills in data analysis, advanced knowledge of Excel or other tools.
- Familiarity with international impact assessment methodologies, criteria and frameworks, such as: SROI (Social Return on Investment), ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
Merits
– Degree or bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Business Administration and Management, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines.
– Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Business Administration and Management, Environmental Sciences or related disciplines.
– Previous experience in evaluating the social and economic dimensions of projects, organisations or technologies will be highly valued.
