Open call: funding for startups and SMEs to develop biofertilizers and biostimulants
The call will be open from September 1 to November 14, 2025.
The call for cascade funding for the European project I3-4-Biofertilizers is now open! This initiative offers grants of up to €60,000 for startups, small and medium-sized enterprises that want to promote innovative solutions in biofertilizers, biostimulants and circular and sustainable agri-food practices.
The aim of the program is to help companies overcome the financial and technical barriers that often limit the adoption of biofertilizers, while promoting innovation and interregional collaboration between actors in the agri-food sector.
The grants are aimed at companies in Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Hungary, and can be used for feasibility studies, investment plans or marketing strategies, with technical advice and specialized support from the project consortium.
DEADLINES and REQUIREMENTS
The call will be open from 1 September to 14 November 2025 (17:00 CET). Applications must be submitted in English and by email, following the procedure described in the Call Guide.

FUNDING LINES
This call includes two main lines of funding:
- Line 1: tools and services to support the deployment of the project’s investment cases.
- Line 2: open innovation and scaling up of new biofertilizer products (TRL 6–8)
With this funding, the I3-4-Biofertilizers project aims to promote a more circular, resilient and sustainable agriculture at European level, strengthening the biofertilizer value chain and contributing to a more environmentally friendly agriculture.
